Agiliron sends transaction data to AvaTax, and AvaTax sends back the tax total. Customers, salespeople, and others can see the tax owed in real time in your shopping cart. AvaTax is updated at regular intervals to reflect changing rates and rules in the 12,000+ U.S. sales and use tax jurisdictions. That means you can stop looking up sales tax rates altogether.

Establish a direct link between AvaTax and Agiliron via a prebuilt connection that allows for seamless interaction. You won't need IT support to get started, in most instances.

To setup Avalara for Sales Tax generation in Agiliron, select Settings > Auto Sales Tax Rates Providers. Select Avalara. Enter the Account ID provided by Avalara, the License Key from Avalara, and the Company Code from Avalara. Select the Connection Mode for Live or Test mode. Configure the Discount Code and Shipping Code settings for tax codes to be used for Shipping Charges and Discounts applied to the order.

After entering the information, click the Test Connection button to verify that the credentials entered allow Agiliron to connect with your Avalara account. The system will try to connect with Avalara and confirm the connection or provide feedback regarding the problem.

Agiliron also supports Customer Matching of Accounts in Agiliron with Customer Name/Code in Avalara. If the customer's name is found, then Avalara uses the specific customer information in the Avalara configuration to determine sales tax rates for that customer. This is useful in cases where a customer operates in multiple states and may have tax exemptions in some. If no match is found, the integration will continue to operate based on customer location and product TIC code.
